CONOVER - Dale Lee Felmet, 64, of Conover, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2009 while being lovingly cared for at the Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born on April 22, 1945 in Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of the late Carl Felmet and Bertha Wright Felmet.

Dale was a loving husband, a devoted father and a proud grandfather. He worked for Sherrill Furniture in Hickory for 44 years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha H. Felmet; daughter, Susan Little and her husband, Kevin and their daughters, Savannah and Candace of Holly Springs, NC; son, Brandon Felmet and his wife, Kelly and their daughters, Mackenzie and Sydney of St. Augustine, FL; step-sons, Jason Benfield and his wife, Wesley and their son, Zachary of Granite Falls, Samuel West and Andrew West, both of Newton; sisters, Ruth Willis of Vale and Maggie Willis of Lawndale, NC; brother, Jerry Felmet of Vale; sister-in-law, Wilma Felmet of Vale; and brother-in-law, Hugh Randall of Vale.

A Service of Remembrance will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2009 at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, 731 N. Highway 18, Vale, NC with the Reverend Jennifer Hege officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, July 19, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
