LINCOLN COUNTY
SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT ASSISTS CSX
RAILROAD IN JOINT ATV TRESPASSING
OPERATION

EAST LINCOLN Members of
the Lincoln County Sheriffs
Department recently assisted CSX railroad
police and several other agencies in an
operation regarding All-Terrain Vehicles
(ATVs) and trespassing on CSX property.
Lincoln County Sheriffs Office,
along with Gaston County Police; Mt.
Holly Police; CSX Railroad Police and the
North Carolina Forestry Service all
participated in the one-day operation
according to Lincoln County
Sheriffs Office Lt. Jeff Warlick.
The purpose of the operation was to
apprehend and charge individuals who are
trespassing and damaging CSX Railroad
property by use of ATVs, said
Warlick.
The operation took place 2 8pm
Sunday afternoon and covered an area from
the Highway 273 corridor extending from
Mt. Holly to the Highway 16 interchange,
and from there along Highway 16 to
Killian Road to Pine Ridge Drive in
Lincoln County.

participants focused on the area of CSX
Railroad property around Killian Road,
Optimist Club Road and Pine Ridge Drive
in Lincoln County.
Besides Lt. Jeff Warlick, First Sgt.
Gerald Dellinger, Detective First Sgt.
Lee Keller, Sgt. Martin Hill and an
unnamed investigator participated in the
operation.
Overall, the operation netted four verbal
warnings to people walking on the
railroad tracks; three citations for
trespass on property with an ATV; one
felony possession of six crack rocks; one
possession of drug paraphernalia; one
seizure of an ATV; and one seizure of a
dirt bike.
Warlick said a similar operation is
