LINCOLN COUNTY COMMISSION LOOKS AT REZONING REQUESTS MONDAY

LINCOLNTON -- It's going to be a busy night for Lincoln County Zoning Administrator Randy Hawkins Monday night, as he will have three rezoning requests to present before the board of commissioners.

The first request involves nearly one acre of land on Highway 16 near Burnwood Trail. The applicants, Brian and Tabitha Molican, want to rezone the property to permit a 4,900 square-foot retail/office building.

Calico Technologies Inc., meantime, is requesting a conditional use permit to operate a metal-coating facility, which is located on the north side of Balsom Ridge Drive east of Highway 16.

Both of the requests involve property in the Catawba Springs Township.

Mobile homes on three lots are the focus of Kenneth McCurry's request for a conditional use permit. The property involves nearly six acres on the west side of Old Lincolnton-Crouse Road north of Highway 150 in Howards Creek Township.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of the James W. Warren Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Below is the agenda for the meeting.

The proposed 4.6-acre site is located on the north side of Balsom Ridge Drive about 600 feet east of Hwy. 16 in Catawba Springs Township.

CUP #287 Kenneth McCurry, applicant (Parcel ID# 88349, 88350 and 88351) A request for a conditional use permit to place Class B (doublewide) mobile homes on three lots, one per lot, in the R-S (Residential Suburban) district. The property, totaling 5.5 acres, is located on the west side of Old Lincolnton-Crouse Road about 600 feet north of Hwy. 150 in Howards Creek Township.
