JAILED DRUG SUSPECT FACES FAILING TO APPEAR CHARGE

Rita Renee Clemmer

LINCOLNTON – Rita Renee Clemmer was one of 38 drug suspects rounded up last week by Lincolnton Police and the city’s Special Enforcement Team. Now, the Georgetown Road woman is charged with failing to appear in court, even though she’s been in jail for a week.

Clemmer was charged via an order for arrest on a charge of misuse of 911. She was served the warrant by Sgt. Willie Vaughn at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center around 5:30pm.

Bond on the new charge was set at $1,200 secured.

Clemmer, of 1015 Georgetown Road, has been in jail since being charged as part of an operation called “Summertime Blues.”

According to Detective Lt. Brian Greene, it was one last push for Lincolnton Police Chief Dean Abernathy before his October 2009 retirement.
