LINCOLNTON -
Christopher Michael (Little Mike) Rogers, 31, of 3061 Landers Church Road, Lincolnton, NC and formerly of Walhalla, died Sunday, June 28, 2009.

A native of Oconee County, Mr. Rogers was the son of Jackie Ann Atkinson Smith of Seneca, SC and Michael Phillip Rogers of Clarksville, GA. He was a student at UNC-Charlotte and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Rogers served in the US Navy on the USS Cole for 9 years and was a Staff Sergeant with the US Air Force for 6 years. He was a veteran of Desert Storm and served in Afghanistan.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogers is survived by brothers, Phillip Allen Rogers of Lincolnton, NC, Joshua Dwayne Vandiver of Clarksville, GA and Cecil Edward Smith III and Christian Elliott Smith, both of Seneca; sisters, Leah Michelle Rogers of Charlotte, NC, Melissa Ann Parker of Clarksville, GA, Emily Ann Smith of Seneca, SC and Martin and Cynthia Reynolds of Lincolnton, NC; step-mother, Sherry Rogers of Clarksville, GA and step-father, Cecil Edward Smith, Jr. of Seneca, SC; grandparents, Jo Ann Atkinson of West Union, SC, Clarence and Barbara Rogers of Walhalla and Tommy and PJ Williams of Iron Station, NC; and uncle and aunt, Harold and Helen Redman of Lake Norman, NC.

Mr. Rogers was predeceased by grandfather, Jack Atkinson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 from the Chapel of Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, with burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of the mother, Jackie Smith, 123 I Northwest Drive, Seneca, SC 29678.
