SHERRILLS
FORD -- Lincoln County Sheriff's
investigators have filed additional charges
against one of three teens, already charged with running
a car theft ring in Lincoln and surrounding
counties.
Last Thursday, 18-year-old Christian Michael
Moser of Sherrills Ford was charged with two
counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle and
one count each of felony and misdemeanor larceny.
On July 24, Moser and 16-year-old Brian Lee
Harkey of Denver were charged with felony
breaking, entering and larceny of a motor
vehicle.
More charges may be pending including against
Stanley Jeffrey Alan Varri, 16. Catawba, Iredell
and Gaston County Sheriff's officials also have
charges filed against the same trio in connection
with home break-ins, car thefts and larceny cases
in those counties as well.
Authorities from both Lincoln and Catawba
Counties -- and Mooresville Police from Iredell
County -- apprehended the teens July 23 at an
apartment rented by Harkey's mother. Authorities
say a tip led them to Harkey's address, where a
vehice reported stolen from Mooresville was found
outside the apartment.
Electronics and more than five stolen vehicles
were found a few miles from where Harkey was
arrested with the two other teens. Lincoln County
Sheriff's detectives say more charges may be
forthcoming.
