IN WILD PARKING LOT INCIDENT
Police say Extra Low Prices Not
Motivation for Incident

A wild parking lot scene Sunday
at a Cherryville grocery store lands a Gaston
County woman in jail.
Police say that Patricia Gail Terres, 58, West
Church Street, Cherryville, chased another woman
around the parking lot of Food Lion in Terres
vehicle. Terres also struck a vehicle in the
parking lot and nearly struck the vehicles
driver, who had to jump out of the way.
Authorities said that when Terres failed to chase
the other woman down, Terres threw a pocket knife
at her.
Terres faces charges of assault with a deadly
weapon; injury to personal property; leaving the
scene of a hit and run with property damage and
contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The
suspects 11-year-old grandson was in the
vehicle at the time of the incident.
Terres was taken to the Gaston County Jail under
a $20,000 secured bond.
