FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE TWO-ALARM CAR FIRE SATURDAY

Lincolnton firefighters prepare to douse a van fire Saturday evening at CVS on East Main Street.

LINCOLNTON – Lincolnton firefighters, assisted by Boger City firefighters, put out a car fire Saturday night, where the vehicle was dangerously close to an East Main Street business.

Around 7:11pm, firefighters responded to the CVS Pharmacy, 1403 East Main Street, to reports a van was on fire. What made the situation more dangerous was the van was parked right next to the front entrance of the store.

Firefighters put the fire out and look over the damage.

Firefighters had the fire extinguished within seconds of arriving on the scene. No injuries were reported and the building did not sustain any damage.

The fire remained under investigation according to Lincolnton Fire Department Chief Mike Lee. Firefighters cleared the scene around 7:45pm.
