FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO INCIDENT

Authorities responded to a residence on Lawing Street after a residence heard a large boom.

BOGER CITY – Firefighters from Boger City and Lincolnton responded to a residence in the 100 block of Lawing Street to reports of an explosion in a house.

According to radio traffic, the incident happened around 10:30pm Saturday, where a caller told Lincoln County Communications Center dispatchers there was a “loud boom” in the house.

Lincolnton Fire Department chief Mike Lee said a fuse blew in the residence, plummeting the house into darkness.

Neighbors report power flickering around the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
