-- Police responded to a call for service
and possible unlawful restarint at the
Days Inn at 614 Clark Drive. A female
subject told authorities a male was
refusing to let her leave a room.
4:22am
-- Authorities were called to a residence
at 814 E. Pine Street in reference to a
welfare check. Police checked on the
status of the resident at that location.
9:44am
-- Police, along with fire and medic,
responded to a bomb threat at 1908 East
Main Street (Peoples Bank), where the
bank was evacuated. Officers searched the
building and found nothing.
10:49am
-- Officers were called to reports of
suspicious persons and suspicious
activity at 138 Balsam Road. There were
subjects in a parking lot exchanging
items.
4:39pm
-- Someone called in to report a forgery
at 2586 E. Main St. (5/3 Bank), where a
subject attempted to cash a forged check.
5:10pm
-- Officer Billy Burgin responded to
reports of a subject breaking/entering to
a motor vehicle at the V&B Food Mart
at 1210 E. Main Street. The suspect was
later located at Hardees, arrested and
then charged.
6:50pm
-- Police were called to 2230 E. Main
Street, the Petro Express, regarding
larceny and trespass. A subject took beer
then left the store without paying.
7:47pm
-- Police responded to a residence at
1505 Laboratory Road in reference to
attempted fraud. A subject was trying to
obtain the victim's credit card number.
7:49pm
-- Someone called in to report a
suspicious person at 214 Carter Street. A
subject knocked on the door, claiming to
be a pastor, and asked for directions.
9:31pm
-- There was a 911 hangup at 209 E.
Catawba Street. Someone called 911 and
hung up.
9:50pm
-- A domestic disturbance and assault on
a female were reported at 416 E. Church
Street. A male subject struck a female
subject in the leg.
11:30pm
-- Police received a call for service at
241 Lawing Street, where the victim's dog
was attacked by another dog.
