Mrs. Betty Ruth "Tootie” King Stacy, of 3918 NC 18 Hwy, Vale, died June 25, 2009 at home.

Born March 19, 1934 in Cleveland County she was a daughter of the late Edison King and Estelle Ingle King. She was retired from the finishing department at Bassett Upholstery. She was a member of Bingham Memorial Evangelical Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Stacy.

Mrs. Stacey is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Glenn Estes of Newton; Donna and Randy Ritchie and Gale and Darrell Matthews all of Vale, two sisters Louise Evans of Newton and Vertie Sue Blackwell of Hickory; two brothers, Walter King of Florida and Carroll King of York, SC; four grandchildren, Michael Wooten, Stacy Eastham, Johnnie Matthews and Sherry Ritchie; and five great-grandchildren, Brianna Wooten, Austin Wooten, Daniel Wooten, Michella Eastham and Felisha Eastham.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Stamey Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Bingham Memorial Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Torrence officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
