LINCOLNTON - Betty Jo Collins, 53, died Aug. 8, 2009, at CMC-Lincoln.

She was born in Mecklenburg County on Jan. 3, 1956, daughter of Billie Painter of Lake Wylie, S.C. and the late John William Painter.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ervin Collins, Sr.; and her son, John Ervin Collins Jr.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Kevin Meyer of York, and Juanita and John Grainger of Lincolnton; five sisters; granddaughters, Kirsten, Selena, Bethany, Tiana, Jessica, and Jennifer; grandsons, Gus and Justin.

Services will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at New Vision Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Betty Collins Memorial Fund C/O Juanita Grainger, 2839 Long Shoals, Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Arrangements are with Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel.
