LINCOLNTON
– Mrs. Betty Sue Riley
Avery, age 75 of 1300 River Hill Trail in
Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, July 1,
2009.
A graveside service will be held today at
11:00 a.m. at Hollybrook Cemetery with
Rev. Dr. Andrew Royals officiating.
Mrs. Avery was born July 3, 1933 in
Cleveland County to the late Julius and
Bertha Wood Riley. She worked in the
textile industry.
She is survived by her husband, Vance
Avery, Sr. of the home; son, Vance Avery,
Jr. and wife Kathy of Lincolnton;
daughter, Freida A. Hawley and husband
Mike of Lincolnton; brother Bob Riley;
four grandchildren, Matt Avery of
Lincolnton, Christy Miller and husband
Mark of Vale, Natalie Hawley of Ala., and
Danielle Hawley of Lincolnton; two
great-grandchildren, Allison Miller and
Brandon Miller; and a number of nieces
and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to the Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway,
Charlotte, N.C. 28201-0001.
Warlick Funeral Home is serving the Avery
family.
