NEWTON MAN CHARGED WITH FORGING PRESCRIPTION

By Jon Mayhew

LINCOLNTON –
A Catawba County man is charged with forging a prescription in Lincoln County over the weekend.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon at Walmart on North Generals Boulevard. Officer Dwayne McAllister responded to the scene and talked with Steven Randall Wilson, the suspect.

“An employee in the pharmacy called Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln and spoke with someone in the Emergency Room,” said McAllister. “The nurse said Wilson was seen on Friday and wasn’t given a prescription for anything.”

Wilson admitted he had forged the prescription for 60 Oxycotin because he had ran out of medicine.

Wilson, 100 West 17th Street, Newton, was charged with felony obtaining a controlled substance by forgery. He was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond.
