ARREST THREE IN HOME RAID

-- Authorities are looking for a
22-year-old man after the Lincoln County
Sheriff's Office narcotics division and
tactical response team raided a
home on Rufus Road, which is off Highway
16.
Armed with a search warrant, the teams
made entry into a residence at
653 Rufus Road around 6:30pm Thursday,
taking three people into
custody. The homeowner, Corey Howard,
fled the scene on foot and is
being sought by authorities.
Investigators arrested Michael Dustin
Slaughter, 22, Newton; William
Crane, 22, Denver; and Randall Mahaffey,
24, Denver.
They are charged with possession with
intent to manufacture a controlled
substance (marijauna) and possession of
drug paraphernalia.
The three men are in the Harven A. Crouse
Detention Center under a
$20,000 secured bond each.
Officers seized 550.1 grams of marijuana
valued at $1,800 and
approximately $40,000 in cash found at
several locations in the home and
a vehicle. Scales, baggies, grinders and
3 handguns were also
confiscated.
Investigators are still trying to locate
the homeowner, Corey Jamaal
Howard, who is facing the same charges
and an additional charge of
maintaining a dwelling for a controlled
substance. Anyone with information
about his whereabouts is asked to call
Crimestoppers at (704) 736-8909.
Anonymous tips could lead to a reward of
up to $1,000.
Investigation into the case is continuing
and more charges are expected to
be filed.
