BOGER CITY
-- Three fire
departments responded to reports of a barn fire
Tuesday night.
Just before 10:30 p.m., Boger City fire responded
to the residence of Millie Cronland, to find her
barn fully engulfed in flames.
According to assistant Lincoln County Fire
Marshal Lou Paduano, spontaneous combustion
caused the fire.
"There was hay in the barn, as well as a
loader and a tractor," said Paduano, adding
the barn was completely burned to the ground.

Paduano said the tractor was heavily damaged due
to the fire, but the loader should be OK.
"The barn was owned by Ms. Cronland, but I
think she was letting someone else use it,"
said Paduano.
Flames could be seen from as far away as East
Highway 150 and Old Mill Road.
Firefighters said that two teens passing by
noticed the fire and called Lincoln County 911.
Cronland, who is part of the Cronland Hardware
family, wasn't injured. Pumpkin Center and North
321 firefighters assisted Boger City firefighters
in battling the blaze. Lincoln County EMS and
Life Saving Crew were on hand to assist.

No animals were injured or died in the fire, as
they were freed when firefighters arrived. In
total, more than 50 firefighters battled the
blaze.
