LINCOLNTON
-- Tomorrow, the "Big Shopping
Cart" makes an appearance during the Lincoln
County Apple Festival. It will be located in the
Farmers Market area on West Main Street in front
of the Lincoln County Library.
The Big Cart is a 13-foot tall, 15-foot long,
giant grocery cart powered by a Chevrolet 396
engine and fitted with racing pipes. It is a
unique machine and people can take pictures with
the cart.
"It's a promotional tool for the Got to be
NC marketing campaign," said Jeff Thomas
with Goodness Grows NC.
Thomas said "Got to be NC" is the
official marketing campaign for the Goodness
Grows in North Carolina marketing program, which
is the official marketing program for the NC
Department of Agriculture & Consumer
Services.
The Got to Be NC
Big Cart appears at various venues across the
state in an effort to support the Got to be NC
marketing campaign. The campaign reaches out to
North Carolina consumers in an effort to educate
them about the availability and benefits of
purchasing locally produced food and agricultural
items.
