The Lincoln County Fire
Marshals Office is investigating a
three-alarm fire that destroyed an
eastern Lincoln County residence late
Friday night.
Around 10:15pm, Alexis firefighters --
assisted by Denver and East Lincoln Fire
Departments responded to a
residence in the 5200 block of Antler
Drive, which is off Mount Zion Church
Road.
When we arrived at the scene, we
found the structure fully engulfed,
said Alexis assistant chief Brad
Prestwood. We had to tear the
structure apart to battle the fire.

Futrell said early Saturday the fire may
have started in the kitchen area of the
residence.
Prestwood
said the residence is at a total loss.
Besides the Fire Marshals Office,
detectives may be investigating the fire
as well.
The resident was contacted in Charlotte
and said she packed her bags and her dog
and left the residence Thursday.
The fire was brought under control in
less than a half hour. No injuries were
reported and the fire remained under
investigation as of early Saturday
morning.
Fire Marshal Mike Futrell said he thinks
the blaze started in the kitchen area.
The exact cause is undetermined at
this time, said Futrell.
