Annie Pearl Martin Earney, age 89, of Hickory passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Lutheran Home Hickory West. Born June 21, 1919 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew Martin and the late Dessie Chapman Martin. Ms. Earney was a member of Harwood Lane Baptist Church in Charlotte. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ney McNeely Earney, five brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by:

2 Sons: Ronald Earney of Alexis, NC, Ney Earney Jr. of Matthews

Daughter: Judy Earney Hughes of Live Oak, Florida

Brother: Clyde Martin of Midland, NC

Sister: Doris Martin Champion of Hickory

8 Grandchildren, 17 Great-grandchildren

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with Rev. Scott Howard officiating.

A private burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery West in Charlotte.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton prior to the service.
