ADULT VISITOR ASSAULTS STUDENT IN SCHOOL

LINCOLNTON -- Authorities are investigating a 33-year-old man who
reportedly assaulted a student at Kiser Intermediate School in Lincolnton.

The incident stemmed from a disturbance on the child's school bus.

The male suspect and his girlfriend came to the school to visit her son for
lunch when the assault occurred in the lunchroom. The 33-year-old male
shoved a 9-year-old boy then grabbed his leg, making him cry according to
a Lincolnton Police Department report.

The grandmother of the victim told employees with Lincoln County Schools
that they could determine whether or not to press charges. School officials
decided to ban the male from all Lincoln County Schools and not to press
charges at this time.
