LINCOLN ACE TEAM ISSUES CITATIONS

LINCOLN COUNTY -- More than 35 percent of the citations issued by the/ Lincoln County ACE (Accelerated Criminal Enforcement) Team during December were for speeding. The team, which has a cooperative agreement with Catawba County, issued a total of 288 citations in Lincoln County and 26 charges in Catawba County.

Other violations during the month of December 2008 included:
-- 53 Inspection violations
-- 38 Registration law violations
-- 22 Improper Equipment
-- 20 Driving While License Were Revoked
-- 16 No Operator’s License
-- 11 Seat Belt law violations
A number of other citations were issued for drug violations, open container, stop sign, and moving violations.

The two-man team also arrested one person during a traffic stop that was wanted in Iredell County.
