Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies Investigating Stolen Vehicle Found Abandoned Near the Lincoln-Catawba County Line

LINCOLNTON -- Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a stolen vehicle found abandoned on Stratford Lane around 8:00 a.m.Wednesday.

Catawba County officers discovered a break-in at Midway Marina and were searching for a possible suspect when they found the gold Lexus parked in front the Twin Oaks Apartments on Stratford Lane. A check of the vehicle determined it had been stolen in Iredell County. The vehicle also had a Florida license plate on it that did not belong on the car.

Deputies began to question a suspect near the vehicle when he ran from the officers. The white male was taken into custody a short time later following a foot chase.

The vehicle was processed by Iredell County and returned to the owner. Iredell County Officers took Brian Lee Harkey, 16, of Stratford Lane, Denver into custody. Charges are also pending in Lincoln County against Harkey and Christian Michael Moser, 18 of Sherrills Ford.
