U.S. Marshals Task
Force Tracks Down Homicide Suspect in Georgia

OH In the early afternoon of July 14,
2008, the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional
Fugitive Task Force apprehended Aaron Sherrod in
the Atlanta suburb of Rex, Ga., where he was
hiding from Ohio law enforcement. Sherrod was
wanted by the Youngstown Police Department for
his involvement in the November 18, 2007,
shooting death of James Dow on Youngstowns
north side.
Investigators from the U.S. Marshals Northern
Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force had been seeking
Sherrod and had recently developed information
that he was in the Atlanta, Ga. area. This
information was passed to the U.S. Marshals
Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in
Atlanta, who then immediately acted on the
information and located and apprehended the
suspect.
Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Deserto
states, This is one of the great benefits
of having the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task
Force. No matter where a fugitive may try to run
or hide, we will work together to find them and
bring them back to justice.
