EAST LINCOLN – Emergency service workers were kept busy during the 9 o’clock hour Monday night, answering three separate motorcycle wrecks that occurred in the eastern part of Lincoln County.

The most serious wreck happened at Mount Zion Road and Old Plank Road. Emergency workers at the scene said the victim’s injuries were serious enough to warrant the motorcyclist to be airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper S. Parker investigated and could not release the victim’s name as of Tuesday morning. Authorities classified the biker’s injuries as “serious.”

A second accident happened on Golf Course Road near the Westport Country Club. Denver firefighters reported the cyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and landed down an embankment. Firefighters had to use ropes to pull the victim up from the embankment. Trooper J.M. Futrell is investigating. A victim’s name or condition wasn’t available as of Tuesday morning.

The third motorcycle accident happened on Vesuvius Furnace Road. The motorcyclist there refused treatment.

All three accidents are still being investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
