Police Search for Possible Stolen Vehicle

Lincolnton Police were told Wednesday night to be on the lookout for a possible stolen vehicle, seen leaving Harris-Teeter on East Main Street in Boger City at a high rate of speed.

New Fire Station Ribbon
Cutting Planned Saturday


The new East Lincoln Fire Department, located on South Pilot Knob Road in Stanley.

Members of the East Lincoln Fire Department are swinging open the bay doors on their new fire station 11am - 2pm Saturday to give the general public the first look via a ribbon cutting and open house.

The new station is located on South Pilot Knob Road, down the street from the old station which is at the intersection with Highway 73.

Police Respond to Assault

Authorities responded to a Wednesday afternoon assault at a residence in the 100 block of Davis Street. Officers Christy Mueller, Billy Burgin and Jimmy Barlowe responded to the residence around 5:15pm and learned all parties involved in the assault had left the area prior to the officer's arrival. Police learned the victim was punched in the face but was not seriously injured. The victim declined to press charges.

Youth Basketball Registration and Coach Recruitment

The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation is currently accepting youth basketball registration for the 2009-2010 Youth Basketball League. The league is for boys and girls grades 2 - 9. Interested players can register 8am - 5pm Monday – Friday at the Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park. Registrations (no clinic) will also be held on Saturday, November 14 & 21, and December 5; from 9am – 12pm at the Lentz Gym. Registration for the league is $30.00 per child for city residents and $45.00 for non-city residents, and will be accepted through 12:00pm Saturday, December 5th.

The Recreation department is also seeking persons interested in being volunteer coaches for the youth basketball league. Persons interested in coaching may contact the department to receive a volunteer coach’s application and to learn more about the position. For more information, please contact the Recreation Office at (704) 735-2671.

Daniels Lutheran Church plans to rededicate Honor Rolls

Daniels Lutheran Church plans to rededicate Honor Rolls for Daniels’ members who served in the US Armed Forces.  Dedication will be during 11:00 a.m. worship on Sunday, November 8 in the church sanctuary at 3290 Reepsville Road, Lincolnton. 

Daniels’ member Dean Byers has updated the Daniels’ Veteran Honor Roll.  All veterans are invited to attend worship at Daniels on November 8.
