December 17, 2011 – As the
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition residence in
Lincolnton quickly takes shape, the ABC
network announced Thursday the series would
end its run.
The last regular show is scheduled for
January 13, 2012. The show will air specials
including the James and Devonda Friday house,
which is scheduled to air in December.

– From start to finish, the
special called meeting of the Lincolnton City
Council Wednesday night took less than five
minutes.
At the end of the meeting, Lincolnton Mayor
John Gilleland was preparing for adjournment
when I asked since the first agenda item
related to me and my publication, I should be
allowed to speak.
Hundreds gathered outside of Big Lots Thursday
night in anticipation of pop sensation Justin
Bieber appearing as part of Extreme Makeover. The
appearance, however, was just a rumor.

people gathered in the Big Lots parking lot
on Thursday night as a rumor spread like
wildfire that pop sensation Justin Bieber
would appear with Usher in Lincolnton as part
of the Extreme Makeover visit to the city.

Laboratory Road man was arrested by
Lincolnton Police investigator Dennis Harris
Thursday night after authorities found
marijuana at the suspect’s residence.
Harris said Edward Donnell Latten’s
girlfriend gave authorities permission
Larceny,
trespassing suspects cited
LINCOLNTON – Two Newton
residents were cited for larceny with one
suspect cited for trespassing at the
Lincolnton Walmart. Aaron Lyda and Melissa
Sipe were caught by employees stealing tools
and other items from the store. Sipe was also
previously banned from a Walmart. The couple
has a February 14 day in court.
