Two men learned attempting to rob any business in Lincoln County will send them to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.

The arrests came as a result of the two men – identified as Stephen Prescott Costa,, 57, and Michael Lee Watson, 41, taking around $1,200 worth of computer software from the Walmart on North Generals Boulevard according to sources.

Former Oaklawn School teacher, principal dies at 100

A former teacher and principal in Lincoln County Schools has died at the age of 100.

Warlick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Ruby Camilla Heavner Finger Sigmon, who passed away Thursday.

Her funeral service will be 3pm on Sunday, January 29 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The

The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation Department would like to announce that the W.M. Lentz Gym is open to the public for the Let's Get Moving Lincolnton walking program.  The gym is open from 11:00am - 2:00pm Monday through Friday unless otherwise posted.  The program is open to all adults, and is provided as an opportunity to get regular exercise without having to worry about the weather.

We are continuing our walking theme for 2012, which is, "Walk across America". Each participant's progress is tracked and charted as if they were walking across America.  For more information please call 735-2671.
